Lovely stay at Cate's Poet's Nook! it was peaceful and restful, with beautiful art, books, and other little touches.

Cate and Hutch were fantastic hosts! Super quick response to every message. They were both very kind and had such a clean, lovely home. We will definitely return to stay!

Peaceful and relaxing spot. Easy to get to Portland but in a quiet area. The place is decorated and arranged in a really comfortable arrangement and all the books on the shelf give you plenty to do to pass the time and relax.

Great find! This was a cozy rental with a very comfortable bed. Just ~20 min outside of Portland in beautiful surroundings. Cate was very helpful and responsive when we had questions. Would stay here again!

Cate’s place was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the bedroom loft. Parking was easy. And the listing was accurate about being on a busy road, but still a beautiful location! The backyard is very peaceful. We did have an issue with wasps so we couldn’t use the covered porch but the host was attentive and tried to resolve that for us. And she kindly offered a discount to make up for it. There were a few cleaning things that were missed between guests, but other than that it was comfortable.

Cate’s location was perfect for a weekend stay. Beautiful backyard and close to Portland. Would highly recommend.

We loved staying at Cates. The books and games were great. VERY specious, and really enjoyed the light and airy porch on the second floor. The location was lovely. Only downside was it was difficult to walk our dog. Cars drive fast on the narrow rural road, and there is no shoulder or walkway. Would still highly recommend staying here.

Great stay-- good location, cool design, unique inside and outside porch, and beautiful garden. Some car noise from street. Overall, lovely and peaceful stay.

Cate’s space was extremely charming. I loved the outdoor garden, patio, and fairy lights, library wall, quirky decor, and screened in patio with board games. It was pristinely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Cate was also very responsive and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone and would stay there again.

Cate’s place is like a lovely little cottage from a fairy tale. It was homey and cozy. I loved sitting outside in the morning enjoying the surroundings. Would definitely stay again!

Cate’s listing was perfect for my partner and I on a 5 night stay in southern Maine. We were close to beaches and lovely food stops. We traveled with our 10 year old boxer mix and he traversed the space joyfully. If you travel in mid summer, you’ll appreciate the abundance of beautiful flowers!

The poet’s nook was absolutely perfect. From the beautiful property- lush with stunning native wildflowers, to the incredibly comfortable space itself. The bed in the master bedroom was easily one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in- I am going to be dreaming of it for weeks to come!!! Cate was super helpful and responsive for the entirety of our stay. It was just wonderful!! Thank you!!!

This cozy, charming spot was such a delightful find. Tucked away in a sweet little neighborhood, it felt like a peaceful retreat. We especially loved the beautiful garden, the serene back patio, and the view of the horses just across the street — such a unique and lovely touch. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Cate was a very communicative host from my very first question (and I had several!) she was honest in wondering if her place would be big enough for myself, husband and our two daughters, and it was actually perfect. Her place is decorated with such eclectic beautiful, artistic charm, and had everything we needed. Including a yard for our dog to roam. Cate, despite being overseas, and in a radically different time zone, was always extremely responsive and helpful. I especially loved the upstairs bedroom with the comfy bed and all the books, and the cutest curtains. 😊 We felt right at home. No complaints. Thank you for sharing your lovely abode with us!

Cate was a wonderful and responsive host! The space at Poet's Nook was extremely homey and perfect for a quick weekend getaway. They have a gorgeous property with lots of wildflowers, and a fire pit we unfortunately didn't have the time to make use of. Very close to Portland and surrounding beaches.

We enjoyed our stay and Cate was very helpful when my husband needed accommodations due to being on crutches. It all worked out great!

Cate is a charismatic, smart and welcoming owner. Generous to share her beautiful garden and agreeable on convenient check-in/ check-out time. The place feels homey, with a friendly cat welcoming you and a dog in the window chatting you up as you exit the car. Just a beautiful setting... Horses/burrow across the street... The Poet's Nook's kitchen is fully equipped, including several types of coffee makers. The bathroom has basic toiletries - shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash; Plenty of storage space and a great water pressure! Fresh nice towels and cotton linens... Memory foam pillow was my favorite. Goose down duvet felt cozy. A wall filled with hundreds of poetry books! Games - Scrabble/ Chess...An upstairs' enclosed and screened charming lanai was inviting, though we didn't have time to enjoy it. The night lights were convenient. Organic coffee we asked for was a beautiful bonus! (forgot to bring ours.) Drinking water is filtered. Enjoy your stay! We did very much...

We attended a Buxton wedding. Arrived late in the day and left early next morning. We didn’t use the kitchen or living room - just slept. Peaceful environment. Nicely landscaped farm house home with gorgeous rhododendrons in full bloom. Very comfortable bed. Windows were left opened for us, to let in night time breezes. Great night’s sleep.

We had a great stay! Cate is super responsive, friendly, and has many helpful recommendations. The place is charming, especially the bedroom with all the books. Location was great -- very near a sweet farmstead, and many restaurants, beaches and Portland itself all are very accessible. We would definitely stay again!

We had an issue with the check-in code and Cate responded immediately and resolved the issue within minutes! The rental was exactly as pictured, and spotless. We were staying in the vicinity for a wedding and it was the perfect location for us.

Our first trip to Maine was so memorable largely due to this stay. The area was beautiful and it truly felt like a home. It was so nice meeting Hutch and Pat the cat who were very friendly. The stay had everything we needed and was the perfect getaway for the weekend. My favorite part was the beautiful backyard equipped with lights and a swing. Cannot recommend this place enough!
