Cate’s home was charming, had tons of character, all the essentials were there. As a host, Cate was super responsive and even the cleaners (caught them in passing) were extremely friendly. It’s a great location and close to Portland and other great Maine destinations. Definitely a spot we’re putting on the list to return to.

My parents and I stayed for a few days while visiting my grandfather in a hospice facility. Cate’s house was the perfect place for us to land after some very tough and draining days. You can feel the love that was poured into the house, from the incredible furnishings and decor, to the convenient modern updates, the beautiful landscaping, and thoughtful guest instructions. Cate was so welcoming and very quick to answer any questions, including when we needed to extend our stay. We had everything we needed to unwind in a cozy beautiful home during a difficult time and I will forever be grateful.

As first-timers to Maine, Cate’s place was the perfect spot. Cozy, beautifully decorated and organized, and so quintessentially Maine! We didn’t spend much time home during the day as we were out exploring and eating our weight in lobster, but it was a treat to come home each night to somewhere that felt like home, even if temporarily. Thank you Cate for your incredible hospitality and communication! Incredible website of recommendations too!! 😍

From the time I booked the reservations for the Air BnB Cate stayed in constant contact with me via email. Once we checked in Cate was in constant contact to make that we had everything that we needed. There was one small issue but Cate was right on top of it and had the issue fixed immediately. Very relaxing atmosphere and a very well kept house. I would definitely stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cate’s charming home in Scarborough. It was close enough to explore Portland without the stresses of the city and provided a cozy space to relax and refresh after a long day. The Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center is nearby for nature lovers and a great kayaking experience! The sofas and beds are comfortable, bathrooms are clean with good water pressure, and there’s filtered water available in the kitchen. We really enjoyed the decor throughout the home and look forward to staying again in the future! Thank you!

We had a wonderful visit at the Good Bones Abode. We were grateful to find such a peaceful home that allowed us to travel with our dog. And the location was great and made a great home base for day trips to explore the beauty of southern Maine.

We had an awesome stay at The Good Bones Abode. It was perfect for our family and 2 furry friends. The farm house is adorable and there was plenty of space, very comfortable beds and a kitchen that met all our needs. Cate and Hutch are wonderful hosts and Cate responded promptly to any questions we had. She also has fantastic ideas of things to see and do in the area. We loved the fact that it was easy to get to the beach or other places relatively quickly but was away from the hustle and bustle of town. The family is already wanting to plan a trip to stay there again next year.

The home was an absolute DREAM!!! Beautiful and peaceful. We were able to bring our puppies and they had room to run and were safe. Our son arrived hours before us and Cate made sure he was able to get into the home and felt safe and was happy with the local restaurants he was able to order from. We loved it here so much that we moved into the poet's nook that's connected to the home for an extra night once the puppies were safe in their new homes and we were just us 4 again 😃 Many thanks and 🧡 for Cate and Hutch!

Check-in on booking was 2PM, changed to 4PM on Final Instructions. House was not prepared/cleaned when we arrived after 4PM. Owner did not respond to our message about the condition of the house for 3 hours. We were required to book last minute accommodations for 5 adults on Saturday night in the Portland area at great expense before attending a show which started at 7 PM in the Cross Insurance Arena. Response from Owner received at 7:24 PM while we were in the show (did not see it until after the show ended about 9 PM). Owner did offer to have house cleaned for our use on a gratis basis, but offer was made too late. Received a full refund from Airbnb, but alternative accommodations cost us $360 more. Extremely disappointing.

Beautiful older home with lots of character. Comfy beds, updated appliances, well manicured gardens and pretty outdoor sitting area. Close location to the interstate and urban areas, yet in a lovely country setting.

Great place with a lot of room and a great collection of books. It was the perfect place for us to stay in while we visited Old Orchard Beach and Portland during the day. The beds were extremely comfortable and it’s very quiet at night.

While we were not there very long we did enjoy our stay! The inside was rustic and beautifully decorated and the outside was whimsical with flowers galore! We would definitely love to stay again if ever in the area!

Great getaway retreat. Beautiful surroundings, close beaches, a mall, and restaurants. Perfect if you're looking to explore and come back to a nice hideaway. The beds were clean and comfortable. Felt safe and at home.
